Till now you had heard about dust and water proof paint. But now a scientist has prepared such a paint which will also throw the heat away from itself. That is, it has repellant properties. Also it is being called the lightest paint in the world. A scientist of Indian origin in Florida has prepared it.

Professor Debashish Chand at the Nanoscience Technology Center of the University of Central Florida has prepared a special type of paint which is said to be inspired by butterflies. one of our partner websites Report According to it, it is being said that this paint can last for centuries. Also, it is said to be the lightest paint in the world. This discovery in Science Advances published has also been done.

According to Professor Chand, there are innumerable colors present in nature which have been given to animals like flowers, birds and butterflies to fish. He says that his interest in structural colors came from butterflies. He wanted to make a butterfly since childhood. Explaining about the paint, he said that this paint is so light that only 3 pounds i.e. about 1.3 kg of paint is enough to paint a Boeing 747 airplane, which takes about 453 kg of normal paint.

Explaining his research, he said that he wanted to make a material which was non-toxic, had cooling properties and was very light in weight, as other paints could not. However, this paint has been prepared in the lab only. It may take a long time to prepare it in the amount of commercial use.
