Bureau Report: A very bad and shameful news has come out about Punjabis from UK. 16 people have been sentenced to a total of more than 70 years in the case of international money laundering, drug and human trafficking in the country. Most of the accused who have been convicted are Punjabis. In May, the court declared them all guilty. Britain’s National Crime Agency i.e. NCA had investigated it. Indian-origin leader Charan Singh Mukh was accused in this whole case. To whom the court has sentenced to 12 years. Apart from this, his right-hand man Valjit Singh has been sentenced to 11 years, Savander Singh Dhall to 10 years for money laundering and another 5 years under the human trafficking section. A Punjab woman is also included in the people who have been sentenced by the court.
Among the other members of the Charan Singh group who have been sentenced, Amarjeet, Juginder Kapoor, Jakder Kapoor, MS Kapoor, Pinky Kapoor and Jasbir Singh have been sentenced to 9 years and 11 months. Similarly, all the gangs have been sentenced to a total of more than 70 years.
This is how they used to carry out smuggling
The National Crime Agency NCA had claimed that the gang members made hundreds of trips to Dubai and the UAE between 2017 and 2019. During this time, 43 million GBP in cash was smuggled.
The NCA’s investigation revealed that the money was raised through drug dealing and organized immigration crime. This entire nexus was investigated at length by the agency. According to Chris Hill, senior investigating officers of NCA, after 2 years of hard work, they have succeeded in this case. The investigating agency had told that this gang used to travel a lot. In November 2019, the gang was monitored, their flight, phone and data were trapped after which success was achieved in arresting them.
The court held the accused
When the accused were produced in court in May, they were tried in 2 trials in the Crown Court during January 2023. The gang’s leader, Charan Singh, was caught in an early morning raid in West London. Along with this, the names of the people who were involved are Jasbir Singh Dhall, Jasbir Singh Kapur, Valjit Singh, all of them have been convicted under the conspiracy of money laundering.
Apart from this, Sarvander Singh Dhall has been accused of criminal conspiracy and violation of immigration laws. Diljan Singh Malhotra has been declared guilty of conspiracy under the Immigration Act. The National Crime Agency has also cited a 2019 case that the gang attempted to carry out. A plan was made to smuggle 17 migrants into the UK, including 5 children. They were being taken in a tire van. But the van was stopped by the Dutch police. These people arrived in Holland by boat.
