ISRO tweeted that the PSLV-C56/DS-SAR mission has been successfully completed. PSLV-C56 successfully launched all 7 satellites into their intended orbits. Thanks to NSIL_India and Singapore.

This flight of PSLV is the 58th overall and the 17th using the core-alone configuration. According to ISRO, PSLV-C56 was launched from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) in Sriharikota.

PSLV-C56/ DS-SAR is a dedicated commercial mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for ST Engineering, Singapore. DS-SAR, a radar imaging Earth observation satellite, is the mission’s primary satellite. Apart from this, six co-passenger customer satellites are also from Singapore. All the satellites will be injected into an orbit of 535 km with 5 orbital inclinations, an ISRO release said.

The DS-SAR satellite is developed under a partnership between DSTA (representation of the Singapore government) and ST Engineering. Once deployed and operational, it will be used to meet the satellite imagery needs of various agencies within the Singapore government.

ST Engineering will use it for multi-modal and high response imagery and geospatial services for its commercial customers. DS-SAR carries the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

This allows DS-SAR to provide day and night coverage and is capable of imaging at 1 meter resolution on full polarimetry, ISRO said.
