Disclosing this here today, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that already case number 69 dated 28-06-2022 under section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered in this regard. Under Section 7, 7-A, 8, 13 of the Act, registered against several private individuals and government employees at Police Station Noorpurbedi, which was being investigated by the Bureau.

Giving further details, he said that around 54 acres of land under investigation is in the form of hills, drains, ditches, mounds etc. at village Karura of Sri Anandpur Sahib sub-division which is in the name of the villagers of Karura. He said that Punjab State Forest Corporation, SAS Nagar had proposed to buy this land for planting trees.

The spokesperson further said that during the investigation, it was found that two private persons Daljit Singh Bhinder and Amarinder Singh Bhinder, both brothers, had colluded with the revenue officials of the state and sold the village land to the said forest corporation at a much higher price than the original price. had given In this way, the said Bhinder brothers had collected about 5,35,00,000 crore rupees.

He said that during the investigation it has also come to light that the above mentioned Bhinder brothers had transferred Rs.2,00,000 to the account of Brinder Kumar residing in village Tura, Jalandhar district and Rs.1,95,00,000 to the account of his wife Deepak Bala. The couple has been arrested and further investigation is on.
