The Transport Department of Punjab has suspended the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Hoshiarpur. Hoshiarpur Regional Transport Officer Pradeep Dhillon also had the additional charge of Jalandhar RTO.
The Transport Department of Punjab has issued a suspension letter to RTO Pradeep Dhillon. The Transport Department of Punjab has taken action against Dhillon after receiving complaints and investigation reports. After the suspension of RTO, the work of both the districts will be affected again. Similarly in Jalandhar also people were facing problems due to absence of RTO for a long time.

Since there is no RTO in Jalandhar for a long time, the work of vehicle registration is getting affected a lot. RC pendency of vehicles in Jalandhar has crossed one lakh. People who have bought a new vehicle or want to get RC in their name after buying an old vehicle are going round the RTO office.
But all are returning empty handed. However, the target for clearing the pending cases in Jalandhar RTO was set by April 15. But now Hoshiarpur RTO with extra charge has been suspended. After the suspension of RTO till now the government has not arranged any new RTO in Jalandhar.
