Punjab CM: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reiterated the state government’s commitment to compensate the people for every penny of the loss due to heavy rains across the state. The Chief Minister said that he is monitoring the situation moment by moment and taking regular reports from across the state. He said that the ongoing relief operations in the districts and the water level are being monitored through the district administrations across the state.

Bhagwant Mann said that it is the duty of the state government to help the people in this difficult time and no stone will be left unturned to fulfill this task. He said that relief will be delivered to the last person sitting in remote areas of the state. He said that special attention is being given to ensure that relief reaches the most affected areas of the state so that people do not face any kind of difficulty.

CM Mann said that priority is being given to carrying out relief and rescue operations in the most affected areas of the state. He also said that all the dams in the state are safe and the water is flowing below the danger mark. He hoped that the situation would improve in the state by Wednesday evening. Bhagwant Mann said that all the cabinet ministers, MLAs and officers are already posted in their respective fields and the needy are being reached in this hour of crisis.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that in view of the water level, extensive machinery has been arranged to protect the lives and property of the people. He said that Deputy Commissioners and SSPs are speeding up the relief work in their respective districts so that relief can be given to the people. Bhagwant Mann said that it is the duty of the state government to protect the people in the situation caused by heavy rain.

He further said that Ministers, MLAs and officials are visiting low-lying and flood-sensitive areas so that the people of these areas can be taken to safe places.
