Eight age groups under 14, under 17, under 21, 21-30 years, 31-40 years, 41-55 years, 56-65 years and above 65 years will be held in 35 sports.

The week long torch march in Punjab started from Ludhiana.

Block level competitions will be held from September 1 to 10, district level from September 16 to 26 and state level competitions from October 1 to 20.

Prizes of 10, 7 and 5 thousand rupees will be given to the first, second and third place winners at the state level.

A portal www.khedanwatanpunjabdia.com has been launched by the Chief Minister for the registration of players on which the players are registering.

The torch march to be lit at the opening ceremony of the Games started today from the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. where the closing ceremony of the first season’s games took place. This torch will tour all the 23 district headquarters of the state in March week and reach Bathinda on August 29 for the inauguration ceremony.

Athletics, Hockey, Football, Volleyball (Shooting and Smashing), Kabaddi (Circle and National Style), Handball, Boxing, Basketball, Wrestling, Judo, Archery, Shooting, Power Lifting, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Kick Boxing, Kayaking and Canoeing, Competitions in Kho Kho, Gymnastics, Swimming, Netball, Gatka, Strings, Table Tennis, Roller Skating, Weightlifting, Softball, Rowing, Horse Riding, Cycling, Wushu, Rugby and Fencing will be held.
