BCCI President Sourav Ganguly replaces Anil Kumble as ICC Cricket Committee Chairman

Dubai: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been appointed chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee. The decision was taken at a board meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai. Ganguly will replace his old teammate and India captain Anil Kumble, who has resigned after a nine-year tenure.

ICC President Greg Barkley said: “I am delighted to welcome Sourav as the new Chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee. “His experience as one of the best players in the world as an administrator will help us move forward and guide cricket’s decisions in the right direction,” he said.

“I would like to thank Anil Kumble,” said Sourav Ganguly. His brilliant leadership over the last nine years has helped improve the international game, including the recognition of DRS and dubious bowling action.
