Prahlad, son of Kayadhu, was a devotee of Vishnu since birth.

Prahlad, son of Asuraraj Hiranyakashyap and his wife Kayadhu, was a devotee of Vishnu since birth. Due to which Hiranyakashyap started considering him as his enemy. To kill his son, Hiranyakashyap along with his sister Holika made a plan to burn Prahlad in the fire. Holika had such a sheet on which fire could not have any effect. According to the plan, Hiranyakashyap lit the fire by wrapping his sister Holika in the same sheet and sitting Prahlad in his lap. Only then a strong westerly wind blew and the sheet moved away from Holika’s body and fell on Prahlad’s body. Holika was burnt and Prahlad was saved.

Lord Narasimha killed Hiranyakashipu

That pillar is still present here, about which it is believed that Lord Narasimha killed Hiranyakashyap by incarnating with this stone pillar.
