Holi 2023: Alert in hospitals regarding Holi, 20-20 beds reserved, on-call doctors will be on duty

The city’s PMCH, IGIMS, NMCH and Patna AIIMS hospitals are in alert mode regarding Holi. The emergency services of the hospitals have been further strengthened. Arrangements have been made for emergency medicines. Duty of specialist doctors has been imposed. Oncall doctors will also be on duty. About 85 beds have been reserved in these four medical college hospitals. Separate ambulances will be stationed. In Holi mainly people suffering from problems due to color in their eyes and ears reach the hospital. In view of this, additional wards have been kept safe. On the other hand, doctors have advised people to be careful about the safety of their eyes while playing Holi. Doctors have advised to wear herbal colors and wear glasses on the eyes, while doctors have asked to avoid eating food with colored hands. And it is advised not to eat fried things in excess.

There will be special arrangement in PMCH

PMCH Superintendent Dr IS Thakur told that the hospital has been put on full alert. Emergency services are strong. The duty of doctors of eye, skin, bone, general surgery and medicine departments has been imposed. Duty of additional para medical staff and personnel has been imposed. Hospitals have more than 28 ventilators. On the advice of the doctor, ventilators will also be provided to serious patients.

IGIMS will have 24 hours emergency facility

Institute’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Manish Mandal said that emergency services have been strengthened in view of Holi. 10 beds have been reserved separately for the injured. On the other hand, duties have been distributed according to the roster of doctors of other departments including eye, bone, medicine and skin. The OPD will remain closed on the day of Holi, but emergency services will operate 24 hours.

Special arrangements will be made in the trauma center of Patna AIIMS

Additional 20 beds have been arranged for the injured in the trauma center located at Patna AIIMS Hospital. At the same time, the duty of plastic surgery department, skin, medicine surgery bone and ophthalmologist has been imposed. According to the AIIMS administration, the hospital is ready to deal with any untoward incident during Holi. Everyone has been asked to be alert. Doctors and paramedical staff will be ready in NMCH as well. Emergency services will operate here during Holi.
