Heroin worth 539 crore reached Ferozepur from Pakistan

The Punjab Police has succeeded in capturing the largest consignment of heroin sent to the Indian border by smugglers from Pakistan. The consignment has been seized from 2 different smuggling gangs and has been described by the police as the biggest seizure of 2023. The international value of this consignment is being said to be Rs 539 crore.

DGP Gaurav Yadav tweeted that this recovery has been done by Counter Intelligence Ferozepur. In two separate cases, the police have succeeded in nabbing four smugglers. The consignment was brought from Pakistan to the Indian border and the smugglers who were caught were going to deliver the consignment to other states besides Punjab.

The police have registered a case under NDPS at SSOC Fazilka and started action.

3 imported pistols were also recovered
DGP said that 4 smugglers have been arrested in this case. In one case, 41 kg and in another case 36 kg of heroin have been recovered. The total cost of which is around 539 crore rupees. Along with this, the police have also recovered 3 imported pistols in this case.
