Brown rice – ¼ cup
Green chili – 3
Garlic – 2 cloves
Green coriander – two handfuls
Red chili – half teaspoon

Mustard – 1 teaspoon
White Sesame – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 8 to 10

How to prepare moong dal dhokla

  • First of all, soak moong dal and rice together for 4 hours.
  • If you want to prepare it for breakfast, you can soak it overnight as well.
  • Now you will see that the lentils and rice have become soft after swelling. In this step you have to prepare its paste.
  • To prepare the paste, prepare a thin paste by grinding rice, lentils, green chillies, ginger and garlic in a mixie jar.
  • Keep in mind that the paste should not be too thin or thick, now add rock salt and green coriander to this batter.
  • Prepare your steamer in the next step, and heat it lightly by applying olive oil on it.
  • Now mix the baking soda in the batter and put it in the steamer.
  • Keep the dhokla on medium flame and let it cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Keep checking it in between.
  • Now your Dhokla will be cooked and ready. Sprinkle a little red chili on it and cut it into small pieces.
  • Now we have to prepare dhokla chokan, for this add olive oil to the pan.
