India’s first Indian Air Force Heritage Center in Chandigarh was inaugurated by Union Minister Rajnath Singh

Chandigarh: The state capital Chandigarh has got the country’s first Indian Air Force Heritage Center. Union Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated it today. In his address, he also remembered the late former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

It may be mentioned that the country’s first Indian Air Force Heritage Center built in Sector 18, Chandigarh is spread over 17,000 square feet in the Government Press Building and highlights the role of the Indian Air Force in various wars. It has five vintage aircraft which will be the center of attraction for tourists. Gradually, this center will also be updated about the various rescue operations being carried out by the IAF across the country and globally. Initiatives taken by the Air Force Family Welfare Association at the station, regional and central levels for the benefit of families of airmen will also be shown through projectors.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh is accompanied by Chandigarh Union Territory (UT) Administrator Banwarilal Purohit, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary, Member of Parliament Kiran Kher and other officials of the administration.

A memorial equipped with IAF memorials and scale models has been set up at the centre. A theme-based cafe will also be open for the public.

The Defense Minister, who was on a day-long visit to Chandigarh, also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for some other projects in the city.
