The government has made major changes in the rules of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In this case, it is important for you to know the new rules or your allotment may be canceled. If you have been allotted a Prime Minister’s House, you should know that you will have to live in it for five years or else your allotment will be canceled. It should be noted that the houses for which the registry agreement is being given on lease or the people who will get this agreement in future, do not have a registry.

In fact, the government will see for five years whether you have used these houses or not. After that the amount you deposited will not be refunded. It may be mentioned that Kanpur is the first development authority where people are being given the right to live in houses under a registered agreement on lease. In the first phase, an agreement has been reached with 60 persons in the camp set up on the initiative of KDA Vice President Arvind Singh. He said that more than 10900 allottees were yet to be reached in this regard.

Flats will not be free hold
In addition, let us inform you that according to the terms and conditions, the flats constructed under the Urban Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme will never be free hold. Even after five years, people will have to stay on lease. The advantage of this is that the people who used to rent houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will now almost be closed. In addition, if an allottee dies, the lease will be given to the family member as per the rules. KDA will not enter into any agreement with any other family. Under the agreement, allottees will have to use the houses for 5 years. After this the lease of the houses will be restored.
