Tech company Google has announced to shut down its payment app GPay used for online money transactions. Google's payment app will shut down in the US on June 4, 2024. The company has decided to promote the Google Wallet app launched in the year 2022. Indian users of GPay need not worry about this, as it has been rolled out only in the US. After June 4, this app will work only in India and Singapore. GPay's standalone app will not be available in other countries.

According to the company's blog post, all users will be transferred to Google Wallet. The standalone Google Pay app will become useless in the US from June 4. Users will be able to use popular features like in-store tap-to-pay and payment method management in Google Wallet. Google Wallet is 5 times more used than Google Pay in the US.

It has been mentioned in the blog that after the closure of the Google Pay app, American users will not be able to send or receive money to other people through the app. The company has advised American users to shift to the Google Wallet app. Google says that it will continue to update users there from time to time.
