The newly appointed Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib has taken over the service as Jathedar today according to panthic traditions. On the occasion of service preservation ceremony held at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib, Secretary S. Pratap Singh read the resolution passed by the special meeting of the Shiromani Committee on June 16, 2023 regarding the appointment of Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh as Jathedar.

After this, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh announced the name of Giani Sultan Singh as the Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, which was approved by the present cult personalities and Sangat amid cheers.

On this occasion, Chief Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, President of Shiromani Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Chief of Damdami Taksal Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, Chief of Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal Baba Balbir Singh 96 crores. From Baba Maluk Singh, Chief of Tarna Dal Harian Velan Baba Nihal Singh, Chief of Dal Panth Baba Bidhi Chand Samprada Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Baba Joga Singh Tarna Dal Baba Bakala Baba Gurdev Singh, senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, former chief scribes of Sri Darbar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh and Giani Jaswinder Singh, chief scribes of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Joginder Singh, Giani Gurdayal Singh Takht Sri Harimandar Ji Patna Sahib along with Nihang Singh parties, Sikh mints, sects, congregations Representatives of societies, car service dignitaries, panths and religious organizations presented turbans and siropao to Jathedar Giani Sultan Singh.

Addressing the full gathering of Sangat during the function, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami appreciated the service rendered by Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh as the Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. Advocate Dhami said that the present time is full of challenges when the governments are on the path of infiltrating the Sikh institutions to wage a fratricidal war.

He said that for the first time in the 103-year history of the Shiromani Committee, the government has tried to intrude in such a way that the Khalsa Panth will never accept. The Shiromani Committee president said that today is the time to connect the Sangat and especially the youth with Gurmat. He appealed to the Singh Sahibs to connect the Sangat with the Guru’s house by participating in the Amrit Sanchar events. Before this, Gurbani Kirtan was performed by the ragi jathas present at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.
