Patiala : Ghaggar river is causing havoc in Punjab. After the rapids of the river, water wreaked havoc in the villages of Patiala on Saturday midnight. Fields and crops were flooded. Bhagpur of Patiala and nearby villages have been flooded. The situation remained under control as the district administration alerted the people in advance.

According to the information received, water first rose in Darwa village at night. After this, Ghaggar also captured Bhagpur. SDM Parleen Kaur Brar took stock of the situation at night. Along with them, Tehsildar and other staff reached the village and kept an eye on the situation. The special thing is that along with the district administration, people working under MNREGA were also engaged in controlling the situation.

On the other hand, many villages of Sardulgarh are still under water. The water in Sadhugarh has receded a little but still this village is surrounded by water from all sides. The people here now need support and help, for which they are appealing to the district administration.

After rains in more than half of the state last day, the weather is likely to remain clear today. Today neither in Punjab nor in Haryana, the Meteorological Department has given any warning of rain, due to which the water level of the rivers is likely to be slightly lower in the past few days.

Along with this, despite the repeated requests of the Pakistan government, the Indian side refused to start the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Yatra on Saturday. On Saturday, when DC Gurdaspur Himanshu Agarwal visited Sri Kartarpur Sahib, roads and infrastructure were damaged due to water, due to which the visit was postponed till Monday.
