Funds released under scheme Amrit 2 to provide clean water to the residents of Malot city

Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is committed to ensure that clean drinking water reaches every home.

He said that the scheme under Amrit 2 to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Malot city has started to fail. He said that a fund of 23.02 crores has been arranged to implement this scheme.

The minister said that in this scheme, along with the construction of a high water tank in Ward No. 8 of Malot Sahar, about 7 km line coming from Sirhind Feeder will also be replaced which is very old and inoperable.

He said that in addition to this, around 16 km of new pipes will be laid in different areas of the city which are devoid of drinking water and new walls of water works will be constructed.

He said that after the completion of this scheme, the people of Ward No. 7, 8 and 9 will get relief from drinking water problems.

He said that the residents of Sahar Malot have been demanding to solve the water problems for a long time. He said that this work will be started soon so that the drinking water problem of the city dwellers can be solved.
