Giving this information, DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said here on Sunday that 3 accused from Patna, Bihar and one accused from Nanded, Maharashtra have been arrested among the perpetrators of the murder.

According to information received, on 12 June 2023, five unidentified persons shot dead Parminder Singh, the owner of a jewelery shop in Moga and looted gold jewelery at gunpoint from his shop ‘Asia Jewellers’. had robbed It is to be noted that before escaping from the incident, the accused had also taken away his licensed revolver from the deceased Parminder Singh.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that three accused, identified as Rajwinder Singh alias Manga alias Raju resident of Moga, Rajveer Singh alias Avinash Singh resident of Bihar and Varun Jayzi alias Vanu resident of Jalandhar, have been arrested from Patna, Bihar. While the fourth accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, has been arrested from Nanded district of Maharashtra.

He said that the police teams have recovered two pistols used during the incident, one .315 bore (domestic) and one .32 bore pistol with live cartridges. He said that the police have also recovered the licensed revolver of deceased Parminder Singh from the accused.

The DGP said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that all the accused are criminals by profession (history sheeters) and criminal cases of dacoity, theft, Arms Act, NDPS Act etc. have been registered against them in the state of Punjab and Bihar. He said that the accused Rajveer had earlier escaped from police custody during his appearance in the Jalandhar court and was absconding ever since.

He said that the police have also identified the fifth accused, Golu, a resident of Patna, Bihar, and many police teams are urgently conducting raids to nab him. He said that soon the absconding accused will be behind bars.

Regarding this case FIR no. 105 dated 12/06/2023 already I.P.C. Section 396, 394, 397, 459 and 379B and Section 25 of the Arms Act have been registered at Police Station City Moga South.
