Jalandhar: Following the instructions issued by the state government, special teams have been formed today by the Deputy Commissioner Special Sarangal for checking all the immigration firms in the district. In his orders, the Deputy Commissioner has constituted member committees including Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Station House Officers and Tehsildars and these committees have been instructed to conduct physical verification of all immigration firms operating in the district.
Giving details in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner said that all the firms should ensure strict compliance with the rules laid down under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act 2014 so that people do not face any kind of fraud at the hands of immigration firms. He further said that according to the directives of this act, all licensees are bound to submit their monthly business report to the district administration. Similarly, the district administration has been assigned the responsibility of checking these firms from time to time.
Shri Sarangal directed all the SDMs to immediately start checking the Immigration/Travel Consultants in the district and submit their checking report by July 10, 2023 so that the report can be compiled and sent to the State Government. He clearly said that no one will be allowed to violate the rules laid down under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act 2014 and strict action will be taken against those violating these rules. He instructed the SDMs to consider all aspects of the law during checking and recommend action if any violation is found by these companies.
