A youth was shot dead after a minor dispute on Kotakpura Road Bypass in Muktsar. A youth has been injured. After the incident, the accused escaped in a Scorpio vehicle. The incident took place on Wednesday late night.
On receiving the information, the police personnel reached the spot and took the body into possession and kept it in the civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Rattewala, a resident of Sumit. Police are involved in the investigation. According to eyewitnesses, some youths who came in a Scorpio car got down from the vehicle on Kotakpura Road Bypass at around half past nine on Wednesday night.
One of them was holding a pistol in his hand. He had a minor quarrel with Sumit over something. After this, the accused opened fire on Sumit, due to which he died on the spot. Another youth has also been injured and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. At present, the police are investigating the matter.
