Police have arrested the main accused in the kidnapping and shooting near Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. The arrested youth has been identified as Lovekiran Singh resident of Tarn Taran. SHO Shivdarshan Singh of Police Station D-Division said that on April 26, Gautam Bhatti, the owner of Gopal Inn Hotel located on Mehna Singh Road, was abducted by some youths. At the time when this incident was carried out, people surrounded the vehicle of the accused. But the accused openly took the victim with him while shooting in the market.
According to the information received, a few days before the incident, the victim and the accused Lovekiran Singh had a fight. Out of a grudge, the accused first kidnapped the victim Gautam, then beat him up and stole the jewelery he was wearing and escaped.
SHO Shivdarshan Singh said that a youth and a girl were caught a few days ago. A pistol has also been recovered from them. The arrested girl is the girlfriend of the main accused Lovekiran Singh. Along with this, the police is trying to recover the car in which the accused was kidnapped.
