Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said here today that the State Intelligence and Preventive Unit (SIPU) of the Excise and Taxation Department by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Excise Enforcement Units have been provided with modern technologies and necessary infrastructure to crack down on tax evaders and those involved in illicit liquor trade.

Flagging off 24 new Innova cars of the department at the Excise and Kar Bhawan today, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that these vehicles were used by SI during operations to catch tax evaders and persons involved in illegal liquor business.
