Punjab Vigilance Bureau speeding up the investigation of the irrigation scam, two former ministers Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon along with three retired IAS officers Sarvesh Kaushal, KBS. Sidhu and Kahan Singh Pannu have been summoned for questioning again.
According to vigilance, these persons will be interrogated from February 1 to 3. According to the details, Kahan Singh Pannu and Sharanjit Dhillon were transferred to KBS on February 1, Sarvesh Kaushal and Janmeja Singh Sekhon on February 2. Sidhu has been asked to attend the investigation on February 3.
According to Vigilance, all these persons were invited before this and important questions related to the irrigation scam were asked. According to vigilance, the investigation will be carried forward only in the series of questions asked during the earlier investigation.
It may be mentioned that during the Congress government, a case was registered by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on 17 August 2017 under Sections 406, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 477, 120-B and Prevention of Corruption Act. In this case, the contractor Gurinder Singh and the engineers of the irrigation department were arrested.
The contractor had admitted to paying alleged bribes for passing bills from the department, alloting work and purchasing machinery etc.
