The government will no longer impose any additional workload on the mathematics and science teachers posted in 19000 schools. Nor will they be put in charge of various funds coming to the schools. Their only job will be to diligently teach science and mathematics to children.
The Education Department believes that teachers get busy with other tasks due to the burden of other tasks. This affects the education of students. Keeping this in mind, the education department has sent a letter to the education officials of all the districts and ordered them not to take any more work from the science and math teachers.
The education department has written in the letter that there are various types of funds in schools. In which sports and overall education fund is prominent. When science and mathematics teachers are put in charge of these funds, they get busy.
They cannot concentrate on their work. While math and science subjects demand constant attention. These subjects include practical and experimental. In such a situation, these teachers should not be given any other responsibility, so that the education of the students is not affected.
There are many teachers in many districts of Punjab who avoid teaching by going to schools. Such teachers engage in office work as well. In such a situation, after this order, those teachers have also been affected. Such VIP teachers are posted in many districts. These teachers are considered to be close to people holding high positions.
However, since the new government came to the state in the last two years, such teachers have come under fire. The government has abolished the posts created at the office level. Education Minister Harjot Singh himself visits the ground level and takes feedback from teachers and family members.
The Education Department is serious about ensuring that the education of students in government schools in the state is not affected. The department has canceled the vacation of teachers in schools till March. Leave is granted only in special cases. Apart from this, major changes have been made regarding child care leave. This leave is also granted under special circumstances.
