Drug money worth Rs 35 lakh recovered from a goldsmith in Pathankot

In Punjab’s Pathankot, the police have achieved great success against drug traffickers. Police have recovered drug money worth Rs 35 lakh from a goldsmith shop. Two accused have already been arrested by the police in this case. Now another accused has been arrested from Katra in Jammu.

It is being told that on the request of the arrested accused, the police recovered cash worth Rs 35 lakh from a goldsmith in Pathankot. The accused had given this money to the goldsmith to convert it into gold. The police claim that in this entire incident, more than one kg of heroin, 100 drug pills and one crore five lakh rupees have been recovered from the three accused. The accused has been identified as Balwinder Singh alias Chidi resident of village Jaja district Hoshiarpur.

Let us tell you that on February 1, Himachal Police arrested Rohit, a resident of Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur, and Vishal, a resident of Damtal, Jasur. One kg of heroin, 100 drug pills and Rs 13.20 lakh have been recovered from him. After questioning the accused, the police team reached Pathankot. Here the police also arrested another accused from Katra of Jammu and Kashmir.

During interrogation, the accused told that he had given money to a goldsmith in Pathankot for making jewellery. Regarding this matter, Nurpur SP Ashok Ratna said that the police have so far arrested three persons in this case and recovered drug money worth around one crore five lakh rupees.
