'Don't prevent any student from sitting in the paper due to non-availability of scholarship: Harjot Bains

Harjot Singh Bains: Punjab Technical Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has issued a letter instructing all government and private universities and colleges of the state not to prevent any student from appearing for the paper due to non-availability of scholarships.

Bains said that it has come to his attention that some private and government institutions have tried to prevent students from appearing in the paper due to non-availability of scholarships.

The Minister of Technical Education has written to the Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education and Principal Secretary, Higher Education and directed that all the government and private colleges and universities of the state should be instructed that if any case of scholarship of a student is pending. If there is, that student should not be prevented from appearing in the examination.

Also, he said that if these instructions are violated by any college/university, strict action will be taken by the Punjab government. Bains instructed the officials to issue an urgent notice in this regard immediately.
