The resident doctors of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) located in Sector-32 of Digarh have announced a strike from September 4. Doctors said OPD and other health facilities will be affected as all non-emergency services of the hospital will be closed after going on strike.
































Chandigarh News Doctors of Chandigarh are angry because of non-implementation of central pay-scale. Due to this, the resident doctors of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) located in Sector-32 of Chandigarh have announced a strike from September 4.

The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) says OPD and other health facilities will be affected as all non-emergency services of the hospital will be closed after they go on strike.

Letter sent to the Health Secretary along with the advisor

RDA said that on August 21, Director Principal Prof. A letter was written to Jasbinder Kaur demanding implementation of central pay-scale for resident doctors. This letter was also sent to the Advisor to the Administrator and the Health Secretary but no action was taken in this matter at the administrative and hospital management level. Due to this, a forced strike had to be announced.

Indefinite strike from September 4

The resident doctors said that the central government had issued a notification about a year and six months ago to make the employees of UT Chandigarh a central pay school, but it has not been implemented till now. Various organizations of Chandigarh have informed the UT administration several times in writing but no action has been taken so far.

If we talk about Punjab here, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has imposed the Essential Services Maintenance Act in the state. Because the strike was announced by the Patwaris, Kanungo and DC office employees of Punjab. After which the Chief Minister said that if someone leaves the pen, it is our choice not to hire him back.
