Djokovic wins case, stay on visa revocation decision, but Australian government insists on expulsion

World number one Novak Djokovic has won a visa lawsuit against the Australian government. A Melbourne court has ruled that the Australian government’s decision to revoke Novak Djokovic’s visa is wrong.

A Melbourne court has ordered the immediate return of Novak Djokovic’s passport and other items seized by the government. However, following a court order, the Australian Home Minister said the government still had the authority to deport Novak Djokovic, so a decision would be made soon.

Novak Djokovic declined to say whether he had received the corona vaccine, despite the Australian Open allowing him to take part in the tournament. The government had canceled the visa on the last day.

Novak Djokovic, the world’s No. 1 Serbian tennis player, was stranded in Australia. Djokovic’s visa was revoked by the Australian government for violating the Corona case. However, Novak Djokovic will now have the option to return home following court orders. The Australian government kept Djokovic in the immigration department’s hotel for four days.
