Decision giving relief to the transporters of Punjab

Punjab Transporters Tax: In a historic decision aimed at providing relief to transporters, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced to increase tax exemption for transporters from the existing four days to six days per month. The decision in this regard was taken by the Chief Minister while presiding over the meeting of the Transport Department at his office at the Punjab Civil Secretariat.

Participating in the discussion, the Chief Minister said that the transporters face a lot of difficulty in paying taxes due to the fact that they are given only four days. He said that keeping in mind the larger interests of the public, the state government has now decided to increase the tax exemption from the current four days to six days. Bhagwant Mann hoped that this would provide much-needed relief to the transporters of the state and would give further impetus to economic activities in the region.

CM Mann said that this was a long-pending demand of the stage carriage operators of Punjab as they were demanding to increase the number of tax exemption days from the existing four days per month to six days per month. He said that the state government acting according to the will of the people has accepted this demand of the transporters. Bhagwant Mann said that henceforth the number of days with tax exemption will be six days per month and the cost of this exemption will be borne by the government to protect the interests of the people.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that with this decision, transporters across the state will get a big relief. He said that for the first time in the history of the state, such a government has been formed, which takes care of the interests of every section of the society. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is working completely according to the wishes of the people to ensure that they get the benefit of every step taken by the government.
