BSF jawans seized drugs worth more than 7 crore rupees at the border

Pakistani drug smugglers once tried to smuggle drugs across the Punjab border but Border Security Force (BSF) personnel foiled the attempt of Pakistani smugglers. About 1,150 kg of heroin consignment has been recovered from the Punjab border by BSF jawans. Its total cost is said to be more than 7 crores.

According to information, BSF jawans were on patrol in Amritsar sector on Tuesday morning. The jawans found a packet wrapped in cloth near the fencing of Bhairopal village. When it was opened, a packet of heroin was recovered from it. It is being told that the consignment of 650 grams of heroin was tied in a packet and thrown across the border.

Meanwhile, BSF jawans were conducting a thorough investigation in Kaluwala village under Ferozepur sector. Here they saw footprints on a dirt path beyond the barbed wire. After which a search operation was conducted in the surrounding area. BSF jawans have recovered about 500 grams of heroin from here. BSF has sent both packets for investigation. The heroin seized by the BSF on Tuesday has an international value of around Rs 8 crore.
