Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will give concessions worth Rs 300 crore over the next three years to promote electric vehicles with the aim of reducing pollution in the state.

He instructed the officials of the transport department to send a letter to the finance department to set up a dedicated EV fund for concessions and said that these funds should be used for EVs in the state. Vehicles are to be used for promotion, so immediate action should be taken in this regard.
Minister Bhullar took details regarding the responsibilities assigned to various departments regarding the implementation of the EV policy in the state. He said that the establishment of infrastructure is necessary to promote electric vehicles and its installation work should be completed as soon as possible. He instructed the officials of all the concerned departments to work quickly in this direction.
He told the officials that to implement this policy, E.V. EV to make cells The recruitment process of experts working in the field should be expedited.
Transport Minister PSPCL And directed the officials of PEDA to prepare and send a report within one month regarding the planning of setting up electric vehicle charging stations in the state and identifying such places. He also instructed the officials of the housing construction department to formulate a policy to arrange electric vehicle charging facilities in future malls and housing societies.
The Cabinet Minister directed the Secretary Transport and Director State Transport to speed up the process of scrapping government buses that have crossed the 15-year limit so that new electric buses can be inducted into the fleet.
S. Laljit Singh Bhullar asked the officials of Invest Punjab to encourage the companies working in the EV sector to invest in the state so that new technologies can be created in this sector as well as new employment opportunities.
