CM Mann will release Rs 71.50 crore for flood victims: Brahm Shankar Gimpa

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will release an amount of 71.50 crores to help the flood victims on Wednesday. Apart from this, orders have been given to release a compensation amount of Rs. 4 lakh from the relief fund to the families who lost their lives in the floods. This information has been given by Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Brahm Shankar Zimpa.

Minister Zimpa held a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners and various departmental officials of the state. Meanwhile, he said that the state government has no shortage of funds to deal with the disaster. He said that Rs 33.50 crore has been released to the DC for relief work. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to deliver rations and medicines and other essential items to the flood victims.

Various Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the districts of Punjab participated in the meeting through video conferencing. Addressing the DC in the meeting, Minister Zimpa asked to identify dilapidated houses and take people to safe places. Encouraged to save animals, manage their feed and ensure delivery of essential medicines. He also directed the concerned departments to fulfill the demands made by the DC to deal with the floods.
