Drug supply failed in the prison, heroin recovered from the shoes of a prisoner returning from parole

An inmate in Burail Jail of Chandigarh has been caught at the gate of the jail even before delivering drugs. The captured prisoner was on parole. When he was searched during the surrender, these drugs were recovered from his shoes. In this regard, Chandigarh Police has registered a case against him under the NDPS Act.

According to information, he was released on parole on February 17. After his parole expired on March 18, he was taken to Burail Jail. On reaching the gate of the jail at around 6 pm, the warder checked him and two suspicious pouches came out from the sole of the black shoe on his right foot. During its investigation, ganja and heroin were recovered. According to information, earlier he was sentenced to 10 years in a drug case.

The accused has been identified as Vikram alias Mumbai. He hails from Small Flat, Maloa. The police recovered 6.1 grams of heroin and 37.4 grams of ganja from his possession. Chandigarh Police has registered a case under Sections 20 and 21 of the NDPS Act along with Section 52-A(1) of the Jail Act, 2011. A case has been registered in this case on the complaint of Additional Superintendent Jail Amandeep Singh.
