CBI raid on CRPF Commandant’s premises unearths black money, transactions of Rs 6.18 crore from wife’s accounts

Lucknow: Black money worth crores has been unearthed in the raids of the CBI on the premises of the Commandant of CRPF. The case of commandant Neeraj Kumar Pandey’s black income of more than five and a half crore rupees has come to the fore. During the raid, the CBI has seized many documents, including papers related to illegal properties.

The Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI Lucknow has registered an FIR under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Neeraj Kumar Pandey, Commandant of CRPF’s 93rd Battalion, Lucknow, in the case of disproportionate assets. Regarding this, the CBI teams have exposed black money by raiding Neeraj Pandey’s residence in Lucknow and five locations located in Mirzapur, Noida and Delhi.

It is being told that during the raids of the CBI, properties worth Rs 4.6 crore have been revealed in the name of Neeraj Pandey and his family members at other places including Varanasi, Noida and Yamuna Expressway. And Rs 1.02 crore has been found in the accounts of Neeraj Pandey and his family members in the form of cash deposits and fixed deposits. A transaction of Rs 6.18 crore has come to light in the accounts of Neeraj Pandey, his wife Suman Pandey and family members. The operation of some companies of these people has also been revealed, through which huge payments have been made.

In fact, on June 9, 2022, the IG of CRPF had written a letter to the CBI Director requesting an inquiry into his properties against Commandant Neeraj Kumar Pandey. It was said that Neeraj Pandey has acquired a lot of movable and immovable property in the name of himself and his family, which is more than his income. He had also mentioned the properties of Neeraj Kumar Pandey, his wife and children in his letter to the CBI. The CBI headquarters had handed over its investigation to the Lucknow branch.

When the CBI Lucknow branch started investigating the case, it was found that the income of Neeraj Kumar Pandey and his family from January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2022 was Rs 1.44. Whereas, the movable and immovable property accumulated by him and his family during this period is much more than this. During this, Commandant Neeraj Kumar Pandey acquired disproportionate assets worth Rs 5.20 crore. Which is 108 percent more than his income. On this basis, Investigator Inspector Ashish Kumar Singh had registered an FIR at his place on 16 March 2023 under the Prevention of Corruption Act. CBI raided regarding this FIR.
