CBI conducts searches at several locations in FCI ‘corruption’ case | Punjab

New Delhi, February 21: The CBI searches at over 30 locations in Punjab in FCI ‘corruption’ case on Tuesday morning.

CBI teams reach Rajpura, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sirhind, Mohali, Moga, Ferozepur, Ludhiana and Sangrur at premises of Food Corporation of India (FCI) officials.

Meanwhile, the teams also conducted searches over private rice millers and grain merchants regarding the payment of a huge bribe.

Notably, private businessmen were getting favours in accommodating procurement of low-quality food grains to cover up the shortage.

It was also alleged that the officials in conspiracy with rice millers cover up the shortages in stocks and accept low-quality foodgrains transported to other parts of the country. The rice millers in turn allegedly pay bribe to the officials of the FCI
