Car fell into the canal, NRI lawyer of Kapurthala died

A Maruti Breja car fell into the canal of Mukerian hydel project in Talwara town of Hoshiarpur. A team of divers from Hoshiarpur pulled the car out of the canal with the help of a crane after much difficulty. A dead body was found in the car. The deceased person has been identified as 67-year-old advocate Jograj Singh and the deceased was a resident of Kapurthala.

Advocate Jograj Singh was living in America for the last 30 years. He came to Punjab to visit. Jograj Singh was roaming in Talwara for two days. He was going to Talwara with his car while passing through the Shah canal barrage, when suddenly the car lost its balance and fell into the canal due to which Joginder died.

Babu, a relative of the deceased, said that he had received a call from the village of Khirajpur that an unknown person who is parked outside the village in a drunken state. He is claiming to be an acquaintance after which they brought him to their house in Hajipur but he was drinking heavily.

Jograj did not go with them to their house but he slept in the car outside their shop and when he opened his eyes, he took the car from there and went to Talwara. They have given all information about the accident to Jograj’s family.
