A car went out of control and fell into the canal near Phagwara in Kapurthala on Wednesday morning. Two people died in this accident. The accident took place on Phagwara National Highway. As soon as the incident was reported, the policemen stationed at the nearby checkpoint immediately jumped into the canal and saved the other people in the car. The deceased have been identified as Inderjit Singh and the woman Purushottam Kaur.
According to information, Inderjit Singh was coming from Garhshankar to Jalandhar with his wife Harpreet Kaur, son Gurbaz Singh and aunt Purshotam Kaur. Inderjit Singh suddenly felt nervous near Boha village of Phagwara. Due to which the balance of his car was disturbed and the car went out of control and hit the divider.

During the incident, the passers-by present at the spot and the police personnel standing at the bridge jumped into the canal to save the car occupants. They rescued Harpreet Kaur (35) and her son Gurbaz Singh (5). But Inderjit Singh and Purushotam Kaur died. Currently, the police have informed the family about the incident.
