Cadets of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Preparatory Institute honored with “Academic Torch” by Aman Arora, said the sky has no limit

Academic Torch to AFPI Cadets: Punjab Minister for Employment, Skill Development and Training Aman Arora honored 14 cadets of the 12th batch of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali) with the โ€œAcademic Torchโ€ for securing 85% or more marks in the 12th mid-term examination. This initiative was taken to boost the morale of the cadets for the final exams.

Aman Arora, while interacting with the cadets, encouraged the cadets and inspired them to work harder to make their dreams come true. He said, โ€œAll of you have reached here with hard work with the dream of becoming an officer in the Armed Forces. Defense Services is an adventurous and exciting field. Just keep working hard and never give up on pursuing your dreams.โ€

The Cabinet Minister along with Director of Employment Generation Department Deepti Uppal visited the institute and reviewed the facilities and infrastructure provided to the cadets here. During this, they inspected the infrastructure facilities including shooting range, swimming pool, tennis court and other sports grounds to ensure that work can be done wherever required. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to fulfill the aspirations of the youth who want to join the defense services.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan (retd) told the Cabinet Minister that a total of 217 cadets of this organization have been enrolled in the National Defense Academy (NDA) and other service academies, out of which 141 cadets have been appointed as commissioned officers in the Defense Services (Army-109, Navy-13 and Air Force-19). With a selectivity rate of 52 percent, the institute is the most successful of its kind across the country.

He further informed that 38 cadets have cleared various UPSC examinations of NDA-1, CDS and AFCAT. These cadets are currently under the Services Selection Board (SSB). So far 07 cadets have cleared SSB while rest of the cadets have cleared SSB. Awaiting call from
