BSF jawans have foiled the nefarious activities of Pakistan. In the last few days, several attempts have been made by Pakistan to cross the Indian border. The Pakistani drone has been shot down by BSF personnel. A packet containing suspected banned material has also been recovered, a senior official said.

The drone, hailing from Pakistan, was shot down at 2.30 am near the border outpost Rear Kakkar in the state’s Amritsar sector, which was recovered between the border fence and the Zero Line on Friday morning. A BSF spokesperson said that a packet of suspected banned material was also recovered along with it.

Earlier on January 22, a drug-carrying drone was shot down near the India-Pakistan International Border in Amritsar Punjab in a joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police. Punjab Police had said that an unmanned drone carrying five kilograms of heroin was shot down in Kakar village of Amritsar.

Director General of Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav tweeted, “In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Police in a joint operation with BSF shot down a drone in Kakkar village and recovered five kg of heroin from it.” This area is two kilometers away from here. He said that two persons have also been arrested in connection with this incident.
