Brigadier Balwinder Singh Shergill Youth Library dedicated to Dangarh residents at a cost of 40 lakhs

Martyr Brigadier Balwant Singh Shergill: Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said that today he inaugurated the Brigadier Balwinder Singh Memorial Youth Library built in the name of Shaheed Brigadier Balwinder Singh Shergill at his native village Dangarh. This library built at a cost of Rs 40 lakh was inaugurated in the presence of Martyr’s wife Sardarni Harinder Kaur, her daughter Praneet Shergill Deputy Commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib and Poonamdeep Kaur Deputy Commissioner Barnala.

Meet Hare said that Brigadier Balwinder Singh Shergill was martyred on 21 August 2000 in Kupwara sector. The village first has a park dedicated to him and now a library has been set up in memory of Brigadier Shergill. He said that this library has been built at a cost of 40 lakh rupees and the NREGA building of the village is also built in it.

He said that computers and other books will be added to the library so that the place can become a hot spot for the youth to prepare for competitive exams as well as for further studies. Meet Hare said that the foundation stone of water treatment was laid in village Jodhpur. Under this project to be prepared at a cost of 9 lakh rupees, the waste water collected from the drains will be treated and thrown into the pond.

People will get a lot of relief from the treatment plant. Minister Meet Hare said that he laid the foundation stone of the health wellness center to be built at a cost of 29 lakh rupees at Handiyaya. The minister said that this center will be ready in three months.
