Thousands of farmers staged sit-ins and sieges in Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Bathinda, Mansa, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran districts. Karamjit Singh Chaina, Joga Singh Bhodipur in Fazilka, Mahinder Singh Kamalpur in Ludhiana, Gurwinder Singh in Gurdaspur and Nirpal Singh in Tarn Taran etc. led.

The leaders said that at present unseasonal rain, darkness, gusts and hail storms have caused the damage, they are disturbed, surprised and forced to face nature. He said that efforts are being made to bring our organization out of this despair and distress while uniting the farmers, but the Center and the Punjab government are constantly evading and slandering to fulfill their responsibilities. The only solution is to force them to take their rights by struggling against these governments.

The leaders demanded that 1500/- per acre for 75 to 100% crop damage should not be allowed under any circumstances, because the true and honest compensation should be Rs. 50,000 per acre for 75 to 100% damage. 30,000 rupees for Nuskan and 20,000 rupees per acre for damage less than this will only heal the wounds of the farmers. He said that the Punjab government should not make fun of the farmers who are suffering from the evil of nature, it is the promise of the present AAP government of Punjab to give compensation of at least 20,000 rupees without girdarvi. Fulfilled this promise.

Through these protests, the agricultural officials were warned that they should take responsibility for assessing the damage and report it to the government properly and tell them how wheat straw is important for the lives of the people and animals of Punjab throughout the year. Even after the government does not follow the right path quickly, then we will have to declare a fierce struggle.
