The High Court has given him time till June 19 to complete the religious rituals and cremate the ashes of his mother.
The High Court has allowed Bhola to participate in the Akhand Path celebration at Sri Kiratpur Sahib from today to June 18 and cremation on June 19, but he will have to complete all the rituals while in police custody. Therefore, two IPS officers, one male and one female, have been assigned the responsibility of monitoring Bhola. The DC of Bathinda has also been given vigilance orders.
Accused Bhola will be brought to jail again on the evening of June 19 after performing all the religious rituals while in police custody.Jagdish Bhola has been an international wrestler and is also an Arjuna award winner. He was recruited as a DSP in the Punjab Police. In the year 2013, a synthetic drug case worth 6 thousand crores was exposed against Bhola. The investigation revealed that there was a mastermind of the drug case. Bhola has been convicted in a drug case. Since then he is serving his sentence in jail.
