Bureau report : Instructed Jagtar Singh Hawara to appear personally in Mohali Court. The court has asked SSP Mohali to make adequate security arrangements. Jagtar Singh Hawara is to be produced by the Punjab Police on August 10. He is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. The Mohali Court has issued a letter to the Superintendent of Tihar Jail in this case and directed him to appear before the Mohali Court. There is a case against Jagtar Singh Hawala in Suhana police station. Earlier Jagtar Singh Hawara was to appear through video conferencing, but now instructions have been issued to appear personally. National Justice Front is going on in Mohali. In such a situation, the appearance of Jagtar Singh Hawara in Mohali may prove to be a big challenge for the police. The police fear that if Hawara appears, the leaders of National Justice Front may come there. With which the atmosphere can become tense. Last year, the Chandigarh court directed Hawara to appear personally in a case, but the Chandigarh police refused to appear citing security reasons. In response to this, Hawara’s lawyer said that when a gangster like Lawrence can be brought to Delhi from Punjab, why are such arguments being given regarding Hawara’s security.
Hawara demanded to be shifted to Chandigarh
Jagtar Singh Hawara was shifted to Delhi’s Tihar Jail after the Burail Jail incident. A few years ago, during his appearance in Punjab and Chandigarh, a Shiv Sena leader raised slogans against Jagtar Singh Hawara during the demonstration, in response to which Hawara beat up the Shiv Sena leader. After that, in all the cases Hawara is being arraigned through video conferencing. Last year, Jagtar Singh Hawara filed a petition in the Punjab Haryana High Court saying that most of his cases are in Chandigarh and Punjab, so he should be shifted to Burail Jail. On this, the court said that since the Center has refused to send Hawara to Punjab due to security reasons, he cannot be shifted.
Hawara’s appearance was held on Tuesday
An appearance was made in the District Court of Hawara yesterday in the case of escaping by making a tunnel in Chandigarh’s Model Burail Jail. But this appearance was made through video conference from Tihar Jail. Now the next hearing in this case will be held on August 11. Earlier on July 17, Hawara’s lawyer had applied to appear physically in the court, but the court rejected it and instructed Hawara to appear in every appearance through video conferencing. If there is no ruckus during the appearance in the Mohali Court of Hawara on August 10, then his lawyers have demanded that he appear in person during the next hearing citing Punjab.
