Chandigarh: Haryana government beating farmers for demanding MSP on Suraj Mukhi and against chip meters and many other demands are being held by farmers in front of electricity board offices across the state. These protests are being given by two farmers’ organizations.
Giving information in this regard, Sarwan Singh Pandher, State Secretary of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said that these dharnas are being given by Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee and BKU Ekta Azad Kisan organizations. He said that the two organizations will hold protests in front of the electricity board at 103 places in 19 districts of the state.
Pandher said that chip meters are being introduced for forced privatization and secondly to improve the maintenance work before the paddy season and electricity.
These sit-ins will be held for many other demands. The general secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee said that in the past Haryana government had beaten farmers for demanding MSP on Suraj Mukhi and many farmer leaders including farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni have been put in jail.
Pandher said that despite the passage of 9 years of Modi government, they have never understood the pain of farmers, Pandher said that the price of paddy seed has increased by 200 percent while the government has increased the price of paddy by 7 percent, he said. The government has announced the MSP of other crops including pulses, but the central government has never purchased these crops from Punjab.
They demanded that the crops announced by the center should be purchased in the markets. He announced that the effigies and effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be blown today by the farmers to fulfill their demands.
