The police of Ferozepur district of Punjab are taking continuous action against drug traffickers and confiscating their properties. Under this series, the police has seized the illegal property of a drug smuggler worth Rs 39 lakh 97 thousand 500 and posted a notice outside his house.
SP Investigation Randhir Kumar said that on September 12, 2022, Jashanpreet Singh, a resident of Bahram of village Lalchian police station Lakho K, was arrested by the Bahram police station of Lakho K from Jashanpreet Singh alias Ranjit Singh, son of Jashan, along with 6.5 kg of opium and NDPS against him. A case was registered under the Act.
Taking action, the police has frozen the house of smuggler Jashanpreet alias Jashan, built on 18 marle 6 sarsai at Guddar Dhandi, worth 39 lakh 97 thousand 500 rupees. District DSP Guruharshay and Police Chief Officer Bahram reached the spot and pasted the freezing order outside the house of the accused.
The SP said that so far this year, the police have confiscated illegal property worth Rs 14 crore 16 lakh 66 thousand 802 in 30 cases. The process of confiscation of property of 10 drug traffickers is in progress and the documents for confiscation of illegal property of 1 drug trafficker have been sent to the concerned authority in Delhi.
