Chandigarh: Due to the skyrocketing prices, tomatoes have become beyond the reach of common people, and now they will not be used even in the Punjab Raj Bhawan. In view of the rising prices of tomatoes, the Governor of Punjab has taken a big step. Governor Banhwari Lal Purohit has expressed his concern and sympathy for the problems facing the public due to rising prices of tomatoes. Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has banned the use of tomatoes in the Punjab Raj Bhawan in view of the problems faced by the common people.

In Punjab, the prices of food items, especially tomatoes, have increased drastically. Understanding the problem of the people of Punjab and showing solidarity, Governor B.L. Purohit has issued an order to ban tomatoes in Raj Bhavan.

In a statement issued by the Punjab Raj Bhavan, it has been said that this step has been taken due to the continuously increasing prices of tomatoes. Governor Purohit said that if the use of anything is stopped, its price will come down due to lack of demand. The statement said that this has been done so that the citizens can be asked to use the funds wisely.
The governor said that stopping or reducing the consumption of a commodity affects its price. Its price will automatically come down when the demand is low. He hoped that people would cooperate in reducing the increase in tomato prices by using other substitutes for tomatoes in their homes.

It may be mentioned that for some time now the people of Punjab and Union Territories have been very disturbed due to the increase in the prices of tomatoes. The main reasons for this were unseasonal rains, floods and disruption of food supply. Due to this, there has been instability in the prices of food items in the market.
