Balwant Singh Rajoana did not get relief from the Supreme Court

Balwant Singh Rajoana did not get any relief from the Supreme Court today. A three-member bench comprising Justice BR Gwaii, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sanjay Karol has asked the Home Ministry to take its own decision on Rajoana’s mercy plea. In 2012, the Shiromani Committee filed a mercy petition to commute his death sentence to life imprisonment.
