Bureau Report: Some people often say that a man who has nothing in his name is known by his work. But sometimes the name becomes a problem for you. This is what happened with Baldev Singh, he has been imprisoned for 5 years without any crime because of his name. Thanks to Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Sichewara, he has been able to meet his family.

In 2018, Baldev Singh visited Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on a 15-day tourist visa. But he did not even dream that this trip would become a problem. Just because of the name, someone else’s crime fell on him and he had to serve 5 years in jail. Gladly, Baldev reached Manila and boarded the plane to return after traveling for 15 days. A few minutes before the departure of the plane, the police and immigration officials came and took him away. Baldev did not understand what was happening to him?

In fact, the police took him away in the circle of another Baldev. Baldev, in whose delusion the police caught him, had 2 criminal cases registered against him. Baldev’s life turned upside down. He did not know the local language, when he was presented in the court, hearing his name, he nodded his head in the affirmative, after which the court sentenced Baldev to 5 years.

Baldev’s mental condition worsened

After this, Baldev’s mental condition deteriorated. The effect of this was that he could not prove himself innocent. He had to suffer the punishment of someone else’s crime. After this, the family shared the entire matter with Sant Balbir Singh Seechewar, a member of the Rajya Sabha. After which Seechewal took this matter forward. Baldev has now reached his home after 5 years. But this whole incident has changed his life, his mental condition is not good.

The family thanked Sant Seechewal

Baldev’s son and daughter took their father to Sultanpur Lodhi to thank Saint Sichevala. He said that he was able to meet his father thanks to Seechewal. Seechewal has also thanked the Indian Embassy in Manila and Indian expatriate Jagmohan Singh.
