Winning player in Badminton Asia Team Championship
The Indian women's badminton team has once again done well. The Indian players won their first gold medal by defeating Thailand 3-2 in a thrilling final of the Badminton Asia Team Championship on Sunday. The PV Sindhu-led Indian women's team won against two-time bronze medalists Thailand to create a new record.
However, it is important to point out that like most teams in the competition, Thailand were not at full strength. She was playing without her top two singles players, World No. 13 Ratchanok Intanon and World No. 16 Poranpawi Chochuwong.
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu, who took a 4-month break after injury, bounced back with her strength and placement to beat world number 17 Supanida Katethong 21-12, 21-12. First single and gives India a 1-0 lead.
